event was the joint birthday celebration of Rockport
regular guests and of the then Resort Manager. Food
and drinks were on the house courtesy of the celebrants
and some sponsors. Nearby establishments were represented

between resorts is one of the dive station's main
thrusts. Rockport also announced its off-season promo

WORLD
CLEAN-UP DAY
|
|
|
(September 19, 1998)
|
|
|
q
A
project supported by The International Marine Life
Alliance (IMA) in cooperation with the Department
on Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). Cleanups
scheduled in other Anilao Resorts were cancelled due
to a typhoon. However, the Rockport Dive team braved
the storms and pushed through with the efforts despite
the risks. The event was supported and was participated
by foreign and local volunteers. The participants
conducted a shore clean up instead and were able to
collect 371.5 kilos of trash from the entire San Luis
shoreline. The trash that was collected was later
to be evaluated for the apt environmental solution
to waste disposal problems in the area.

|
|
|
|
|
q
The
event was rounded up by an all night long party amidst
the downpour of rain with an open bar and dancing
after the awarding of teams who have collected the
most amount of trash. Among the sponsors who made
the event possible were the following: Carranz Outdoor,
Jollibee, Motorola, Globe Telecoms, Blue Ice Beer,
Coca-Cola Bottlers Inc. , Lipton Ice Tea, International
Distillers Phil. Inc., Outback SteakHouse, Sta. Lucia
Realty, Whitetip Divers, Dive Buddies, Del Monte Phil.,

A
REGGAE ROCKPORT CHRISTMAS GET-TOGETHER
|
|
|
(December 12, 1998)
|
|
|
q
The
resort sponsored an unorthodox Christmas party by
bringing the rhythm of summer music into the cold
nights of December with guest band "Brown
Man Revival" and the experimental group
"Elemento." Guests dubbed the party
as strange and unusual but all agreed that the party
was totally awesome with the kind of dance and fast
music aired during the event. The party was Rockport's
way of saying thank you to all the usual guests and
regular members of the local dive team.
